Guest guest
Namaste! Normally after making a yantra, its corresponding mantra is chanted a certain number of times to energize the yantra. Now if mantra is played from a cdplayer/taperecorder, would it still be able to energize the yantra? If not, I am wondering why not? Regards, yogaman Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Guest guest
That is not silly at all, if you do japa then there are a few factors Constant meditation Constant kriya yoga Constant pranayama And constant bhuta shuddhi If you listen to mantra as well as do japa then the mantra you are doing japa to will get amplified since it is means of oscilation, that is what a mantra does it creates an oscilation which later tweaks your environment hence you are then transmutated into that mantra or deity. That is indeed a very good tip.
Guest guest
KP, thank you very much for that tip. What is the kriya yoga that you are referring to- is the similar to the Yogananda kriya- basically the circulation around the microcosmic orbit(in taoist parlance). I assume that by pranayama you mean combining the mantra with breath, eg one mantra for inhalation, 2 for exhalation etc? How does one do constant bhuta-shuddhi? Isnt this a one time thing at the start of meditation. Hearing the mantra out while chanting is an EXCELLANT tip; now as the auditory sense is engaged with listening to the mantra, what does one do with the visual sense- is one supposed to be looking at the yantra or visualizing the yantra? This would be a three-pronged attack- mind chants the mantra, hearing listens to the mantra and visual sense looks at the essense of the mantra. Guest guest
KP, do you have any recommendations on the speed of chanting; some people say that the mantra should be chanted very slowly like you are relishing a meal; others(like Swami Sivananda) do give allowance for fast japa. What should be the ideal rate for japa? yogaman , "kalika Putra" <dakinic_monk> wrote: > That is not silly at all, if you do japa then there are a few factors > > Constant meditation > Constant kriya yoga > Constant pranayama > And constant bhuta shuddhi > > If you listen to mantra as well as do japa then the mantra you are doing > japa to will get amplified since it is means of oscilation, that is what a > mantra does it creates an oscilation which later tweaks your environment > hence you are then transmutated into that mantra or deity. > > That is indeed a very good tip. > > >
