Guest guest
Dear sirs, As a imperfect person I may be wrong please correct me & look at this issue objectively like in ashwamedha we say a blessing for the doer as Hiranyka shipu bawati, aadityasha rukhmaha does not mean be a demon like hiraksha but achieve the greatness of hiranyaksha in +ve qualities as a king. Earlier there was a intresting mail on gayatri.A few more beeja aaksharaas can make it more powerful. I have also read that the using of beeja aakharaas make certain mantraas more powerful than gayatri & the measurement of mantra's potency is measured in terms of gayatri(meter).(Blessed son of kaali does this have any connection with gayatri chandas ?..). Even in devi atharva shirsha there is a mention of "para rajaas savadhoom". It is also said in aruna prashna of Taitriya it is said gayatri is "vayam devasya bhojanam.." food for the devaas "sresthagum sarva dhatamam" it gives greatness to everyone and gayatri is a spreading light(diyo yonaha) when "sarvaan divo andhashaha". In the post krishna era for saving parikshit maharaja a person well versed in gaytri makes a palnt bloom again by chanting the gaytri maha mantra when the serphent king who is to bite the king tests the person with his full venom on the plant. So are we to conclude that gayatri is the most powerful mantra protecting everyone & is never harmful & ever beneficial & other mantraa may be powerful not suiting everyone that is why even great seers has recommeneded this to everyone & other mantras are only given secretively to eligible person's only.comments please. with warm regards shankar Mail Plus - Powerful. Guest guest
Dear Mr Krishnamoorthy, You are aware of the satvic, tamas and rajas well a mantra can have these forms as well. When you add the bijas in the gayatri the chandah still doesn 't change however extra verses are added (it still is x amout of syllables per verse but extra verses). In terms of Satvic mantras they take a long time to master but are consistant and there aren't any repercussions, with tamasic it is just mediocre in nature having qualities of both rajasic and satvic. When you have rajas mantras they cause great harm or take the sadhak to his/her extremes but are very accelerative. This is the same with bali, if you offer animal sacrifice you get accelerative effect in your puja but you must ensure that the animal takes birth in a higher womb and have the best of life and also do shrad for the animal, then the sin of killing it for bali is wipped of. Real sadhaks don't even have to offer animal bali but offer their evil nature slowly to the goddess this process is known as the inner khanda manda yoga, you either satiate a desire or kill it. The Gayatri in her satwic nature is known as savitri, add 16 more bijas and you get the maha gayatri and there are 22 different variations of this thus people say there are 22 gayatries each of the major or early rishis have mastered one of these mantras all other mantras resonate with one of the gayatris. When you add the 22 bijas you get the adya gayatri mantra which works with your surya nadi that is why gayatri practitioners submerge themselves in water. The adya gayatri basically gives you the fruits of saying a million of so savitri mantras the bijas amplify the power. This is the same with the mrityunjaya add om glaum hum kleem jum sah and three other bijas which I will not mention and it becomes the maha mrityunjaya then there is offcourse the adya mrityunjaya which instantly makes the sadhak like shiva. Even in Namaste Sir! Gayatri with beejas is called samputita gayatri or gayatri with samput. Common samputs are om eim hreen kleem(chanter will be a great leader of men), om shreem ( for wealth). in this case the bija is added at the end of the mantra as an add-on and not as part of the mantra, so this does not change the chandas. Mother Gaayatri is the mother of the universe- in his satwic bhava she is saraswati, in rajasic bhava she is vaishnavi and in her tamasic bhava she is maheshwari. Mother's 5 heads have other symbolisms- her white head is the embodiment of sadyajota aspect of Lord Siva. Gayatri is truly the most sacred mantra-it is an invocation to the divine light, light of the atman that resides in all. It is prayer of protection for all the universe. Constant chanting of the gayatri will protect one from past karma and the effects of black magic. One who has attained siddhi in Gayatri mantra can never be affected by any tantra, so say the knowledgeable. Each of the 24 syllables in the Gayatri is an invocation to each deity, eg- ta is for Ganesha and so on. It is the condensed repository of 70 million Saiva, Vaishnava, Shakta, Ganapatya and Saurya mantras. The 7 mahavyahrities in the long form of the Gayatri bring forth blessings from all of the saptalokas. Contrary to popular opinion Vishwamitra is not the seer of this mantra- this story is largely pauranic in origin. Vishamitra is another name for Brahma; surely something that is the essence of the 4 vedas could not have been created by a mortal at some point of time. Savita is the deity of this mantra, savita represents the masculine portion of this mantra. In this solar system, Savita is the planetary logos, the ever resplecent surya. This mantra is also sacred to Buddhists who call it the great mystic formula. The primary effect of the mantra is on the aura of the body, an adept can see the tejas in the aura of a gayatri sadhaka. As this is the ultimate mantra, immediate effects are difficult to achieve with this; but long term benefits are immense. > So are we to conclude that gayatri is the most > powerful mantra protecting everyone & is never harmful > & ever beneficial & other mantraa may be powerful not > suiting everyone that is why even great seers has > recommeneded this to everyone & other mantras are only > given secretively to eligible person's only.comments This is an absolutely correct conclusion. Every great modern saint has spoken highly the gayatri. Is not really spiritual sadhana to get rid of our fears, anger, lust, and covetousness; if that is your aim then there is nothing higher than gayatri. My personal recommendation is that to see effects this must be chanted 10,000 times daily; since this is impossible to do for most people, it must be made a subconscious habit so that japa automatically in sleep or what ever activity you are engaged. Ajapa gayatri is also called ham-sa, japa of which leads one directly to the breathless state. Of course it would be nice to get the kick-ass version of Gayatri that our highly learned member kalika-putra is talking about. humbly, yogaman
Guest guest
My respected mentor Sri Sri Maha Avatar Babaji is the knower of devi Gayatri and her secrets. Please I am don't know much, what I know is child's knowledge in contrast to the people I have learnt this off. I don't really know much about the mother of the Vedas, but there are 22 different gayatri forms with their respective mantras each called the gayatri mantra. That is something that cannot be argued. Guest guest
The gayatri has been washed down a lot, since the time of the rishis the best devi mantra known to your common man is the kungika stotram, it bay far does not have any competition since it is the goddess of all other mantras. Guest guest
Namaste, I'm not a scholar on Gayatri mantra (my master has only given my the short form of Gayatri mantra), but this is what I read in "Tools for Tantra" by Harish Johari: Gayatri Mantra is composed of twenty-four sound-syllables. Each sound-syllable is the energy of any one of the twenty-four gods, and Gayatri is a combination of the enrgy of twenty-four gods or a combined force of twenty-four different types of energy. Each energy is of a different nature and serves a different purpose. The types of Gayatria Mantra are: 1) Ganesh Gayatri, 2) Vishnu Gayatri, 3) Shiva Gayatri, 4) Brahma Gayatri, 5) Ram Gayatri, 6) Krishna Gayatri, 7) Indra Gayatri, 8) Hanuman Gayatri, 9) Surya Gayatri, 10) Chandra Gayatri, 11) Yama Gayatri, 12) Varuna Gayatri, 13) Narayan Gayatri, 14) Narsingh Gayatri, 15) Durga Gayatri, 16) Lakshmi Gayatri, 17) Radha Gayatri, 18) Sita Gayatri, 19) Saraswati Gayatri, 20) Agni Gayatri, 21) Prithvi Gayatri, 22) Kam Gayatri, 23) Hans Gayatri, 14) Hayagriv Gayatri. Guest guest
Namaste Blessed son of Kalika! Your knowledge is very deep and there arent many people who can stand up to you. With a mentor like Babaji, you are second to none. All I know comes from reading some books here and there. There are 22 gayatris(if not more)- these are devata gayatris, the chandas alone is not the criteria for calling it a gayatri(there are mantras which have the gayatri chandas but are not called gayatri). Could you share this kungika stotra with us? For a such a powerful goddess, I have never heard of her other than through you. It would also be nice if somehow you could get the power-Gayatri from Babaji.
