Guest guest
I recall reading a list of the animals suggested to be sacrificed to Ma Kali (only male animals sould be offered, by the way...) Each animal was then explained to typify a sin that humans suffer from. To sacrifice... a goat, means give up lust a water-buffalo, means give up anger a cat, means give up greed a ram, means give up delusion a human, means give up pride a camel, means give up jealousy (There may be more, but if so, I've forgotten.) -- Kalipadma On Fri, 13 Dec 2002 07:25:20 -0800 (PST) Yoga man <childofdevi writes: > > The vedas are full of yajnas that require animal > sacrifices. Guest guest
Dear all, so in fact we are trying to sacrifice is our sins and why ascribe this to Ma, who is much above all this. Why ascribe our evil habits, our evil aspirations to Ma and say She wants us to do it? Why? Do you mean to say Ma is cruel? She is black , yes that is because of what our mind is. just for a moment surrender unconditionally and see what She really is. I dont Ma who is supreme and has created all lives, will enjoy us killing any being in Her name, for our own selfish ends. Yes we may get a lot of powers etc, and yes, the animal/being who has been sacrificed will ascend in their path, because they have been sacrificed for no fault of their own, but are we justified in hurting another being for our own selfish needs. and the powers we may get which may be faster, will ultimately lead to our own dowfall because they are not sakarma. and we ascribe all this to Ma and Narayana. By doing this we scarilige their very being, ascribing all terrifying things to them and branding them of givers of pain and cruelty. Is this what we are looking for in Ma, if so that is how She will appear to who calls for this way. But if we call Her without ascribing anything bad to Her, and surrender completely, it will be Possible to see Her the way She is. let us stop ascrbing all this bali to Her. She gets pained by all this. If we do bali let us accept it, it is for us and for us only and not for Ma. in puranas also the bali has only meant for such and such purpose which ultimately is again the selfish requirement of man, whatever it may be. i am a brahma satya reiki healer and i know and feel this because of Her instructions to heal many animals which are in pain. love to all shakthas sujatha --- Black Lotus L Rosenberg <kalipadma wrote: > > I recall reading a list of the animals suggested to > be sacrificed to Ma > Kali (only male animals sould be offered, by the > way...) > > Each animal was then explained to typify a sin that > humans suffer from. > > To sacrifice... a goat, means give up lust > a water-buffalo, means give up anger > a cat, means give up greed > a ram, means give up delusion > a human, means give up pride > a camel, means give up jealousy > > (There may be more, but if so, I've forgotten.) > > -- Kalipadma > > > On Fri, 13 Dec 2002 07:25:20 -0800 (PST) Yoga man > <childofdevi > writes: > > > > The vedas are full of yajnas that require animal > > sacrifices.
