Guest guest
My dearest friends and siblings, It is our custom at Divinely Female to honor the Sumerian Goddess Inanna on January 1. We do this using the wonderful book "Inanna Queen of Heaven and Earth" by Diane Wolkstein and Samuel Noah Kramer. This contains a complete transcript of her mythology: her coronation, her marriage to the hunter Dumuzi, her descent to the Underworld to visit her sister Ereshkigal, and her return to heaven. We ask for volunteers to represent the various characters. One person is Inanna, another is Dumuzi, etc. If we do this in person, people can make costumes and props and make it as elaborate as they like. The thought has occured to me that this coming January, we might do this on-line instead of in person. This depends on enough people volunteering. Each volunteer with type the passages into the computer while others read. You need a copy of the book in order to volunteer; I suggest http://www.bookfinder.com to buy a copy. If we get enough volunteers, I shall pick a time on 1 January and create a chatroom on that day. People who are not volunteers can still come and read. What do you think of this? If you wish to volunteer, please write to me at sisterusha ..
