Guest guest
OM Rajeshwari Iyer You asked, "What is the need or purpose for a realised soul to accept the re-entrace of waste product and demonstrate that he is beyond all dualities." The realised soul who does things like this does not do them to demonstrate to himself/herself that he/she is beyond all dualities. That sort of activity would be done only to make a point about raga/dwesha to disciples, and then, only if the disciples(s) were particularly obtuse and needed a dramatic demonstration such you describe to capture their attention and to burst their perconceived notions of what is appropriate or not. The Guru's task is lead disciples to Self-realization, but he/she accomplishes that sometimes through inspiration and many other times through shattering the disciples ego and comfortable world-view.This is similar to the quotation that religion comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable. Guest guest
dear ompremji, you have captured the essence of aghori 'ram nath'story in an appropriate manner. Aghori Ram Nath had gone to Nepal in 1955 to the pashupathi nath temple... and there in front of a live audience , he indulged in these practices --- not to be demonstrative or show that he is a cut above the rest. Rather, as per nepal digest where this story has appeared, during this 'darshan' , he cured many devottes of their ailments through - in fact, one chain 'smoker' kicked the smoking habit after Ram nath's darshan... also, as i have mentioned in that post Ram nath appeared in a documentary along with two other sadhus - lotani baba and swami jayendra swamigal of shankaracharya math.... you know and we all know, swamiji;s do not like to demonstrate their 'siddhis' or occult powers - some swamiji even if they have them do not use them! it is considered 'egoistical' ... but in this instance , these sadhus consented to be part of a film for a student project! times have changed ; we are living in a media frenzy age where nothing is hidden from the camera's eye! if you will recall india's naga sadhus were shown all over the world via bbc and cnn wearing 'only 'sky' as an ornament ( naked) and carrying a 'kamandalam' on one hand and 'cell' phone on the other! pretty powerful imagery, eh? one hand you have renunciated even 'clothes' and on the other you are hooked to youe cell phone? smiles thank you once again for your insights! i will post the links on kundalini at the very first opportunity! i apologize for not quoting the source! love
