Guest guest
My apologies for a relatively long absence without warning; Devi unexpectedly pulled me aside and had a few words with me -- and the result was a couple of weeks offline. I'm back today, and a little wiser for the experience. I think I'll be around more frequently than I have been in the past couple of months. Many thanks to Nora and Menon for uncomplainingly sharing my duties while I was away. They are truly wonderful people, and we are fortunate to have them as moderators here. Now, much of the world is already in 2003, I think. Here on the shores of Narragansett Bay, the sun is now setting on the last day of 2002. We might complain that the change of years is arbitrary; the numbering and time of the changes differs hugely from culture to culture. But arbitrary or not, it's useful to have these sorts of days to make us stop and think -- like births, weddings, and funerals, they bring us together with friends and make us realize the unstoppable motion of time behind all the busy-ness and vanities of our everyday lives. I feel honored that you have chosen to join Shakti Sadhana and to make our small satsang, to whatever degree, a part of your life. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you in 2002, and hope to meet many more in 2003. I wish all of you love, health, happiness and prosperity in the coming year.
