Guest guest
Namaskaram Nora! Yes indeed all the three doshas have all the three gunas, but they are present in different degrees- so kapha is predominantly tamas(no offense to all the kapha types,:-)), pitta is predominantly sattwa and vata is predominantly rajas; of course anyone can overcome the natural gunas and attain others according to their willpower. Aum Namasivaya yogaman Interesting that you mention Kapha Dosha as tamasic in nature. I thought all the three dosha ( tridosa ) have the three attributes: satva, rajas & tamas. Vata { Air & Space } is the principle of movement such as breathing, natural urges, transformation of tissues, motor & sensory functions, secretions, excretions, fear, emptiness and anxiety Pitta {Fire & water } is the principle of metabolism such as body heat, temperature, digestion, perception, hunger, thirst, intelligence, anger, hate and jealousy. While Kapha {water & Earth }is the principles of resistence, that is maintaining the body resistence [ giving biological strength mainly ] such as stability, energy, lubrications, forgiveness, greed, attachment, holding and possessiveness."May the Force be with us all !!"
