Guest guest
For some reason, the lure of personal politics is very powerful in . People make friends and enemies, get passionate, get angry, pursue vendettas, spread rumours ... all kinds of soap-opera drama directed toward and about IDs -- people they've never even met. In leaving our Group today, a valued and serious member wrote to Nora: "I am most sorry to inform you that there are some elements on SS [shakti Sadhana] who are always secretly trying to get visible members like me to "gang up" on you and the other moderators, and/or privately gossip about yours [Nora's] or DB's [my] "failings". It has happened before, and has happened yet again yesterday. ARGH! I think it's time for me to disappear up the mountains for a while before returning to SS. I am on SS to engage in spiritual discussion, not petty rivalries." None of this comes as a surprise. In any large group of people, there are always these sorts lurking about. We know who they are here, and we still keep 'em around -- they're not bad sorts at bottom. Nor are we offended by criticism of the way we moderate the Group -- hey, you can't please everyone. People who play cloak-and-dagger games like that do it because it's in their nature, and they won't stop just because you ask them nicely. So we let 'em go, and hope they'll grow. However, the rest of us -- who are here for the subject matter and not for a mini social drama -- would do well to think on the final sentence excerpted above, and to remember that our purpose here is "to engage in spiritual discussion, not petty rivalries." Those who waste time on the latter are ultimately only harming themselves. Aum Maatangyai Namahe

The 'mission' has been stated and it is quite clear. I have never read a lot of scripture and find it easier to 'gleen' from others knowledge. There is certainly a lot of that available here. I also like the fact that a bit of 'world view' is mixed in with it all like the article on Bhopal. I have in the past and continue to spend much time in India and feel deeply connected to the political and social situations there. For me India is the Devi. In any case keep up the great work it is appreciated. f
