Guest guest
OM Adi Shakthi Ojas is a subtle force that is found throughout the body and that nourishes the body constantly. Ojas is stored in the 7 dhatus - skin, blood, flesh, sinew, bone, marrow and semen - with the greatest concentration found in semen. Brahmacharya or celibacy preserves ojas: instead of being dissipated as sexual energy, ojas can then be used as the fuel of spiritual transformation, creating and sustaining the process of Self-realization. In meditation, ojas and the other subtle pranas of the body are funnelled toward the mouth of the muladhara chakra in preparation for the formation of kundalini. One sits in the lotus postion during meditation to assist this funnelling of prana to the lower spine area: one wears a shawl because the withdrawal of prana from the skin creates a sensation of cold that is distracting.
