Dear satish & other friends

"Imkara hrimkara - marma -- guru padukabyaam"

>One more thing to remember is that the tantras

> are not all the scriptures

Everything u know & not know are clearly eloborated in

the four vedas & their subs like aranyakas etc. what

ever is available is only vedic knowledge & texts

only. Take for example the famous "gum" beeja in the

ganapathi maha mantra they are there in ganesha

atartva shirsha also ur chandi navakshari etc.

We may have chanted the hamsa right from child hood

but the marma involved & consious chanting can be done

giving aahutis can be done after gurus initiation -

If you like it or not every mantra needs a guru except

for nama sankirthana only we dont need a guru.

For a mantra to be successful you will have to undergo

a nyasa or a technique of binding yourself that can

only be unwinded by a guru & not by a book with checks

& counter checks from time to time by him.

It is cosmetic these days to say mantra without guru

thinking someone as manasic guru. but what we are all

clearly missing the point, if the mantra suitable for

the person or not which can be only corraborated by a

guru only hence we need to visit him more often so

that he understands us & gives us the best & what is

good for us after true scrutiny.

with warm regards

shankar

Shri Krishnamoorti ji namaste,

I concur with your views regarding mantras and initiation. As you

said it did become sort of fashion to do japas and mantra related

sadhanas without the permission of a teacher.
