Meaning:

Cutting off the bondages with the clans - freed of

exhaustion,

the devotees who seek union with flawless characters,

One Who is capable of raising them to the grand world

of celestials,

His residence is thirukkaruppaRiyalUr.

 

Notes:

1. As thiruvaLLUvar puts it, on whichever things there

is no desire/dependence from those things there would

not

be sufferings. No more getting exhausted, but can do

the right things more liberally.

2. The divines - the rulers of the nature got their

positions by the Grace of God. What is the thing that

cannot be given by that Almighty Lord shiva. Refer to

the testimony of cundharar, "maNNulakil piRan^thu umai

vAzththum vaziyaDiyAr ponnulakam peRuthal thoNDanEn

inRu kaNDozin^thEn."

3. thirukkaruppaRiyalUr is one of the eight vIraTTam

abodes. (Cutting off the head of dakshan.)

4. This pathikam is sung for doing better in studies.
