Meditation on the Devi

I worship Durga who is bright like the wave of lighting, who is

seated on the back of a lion, who is terrible, who is attended by

virgins ( powers ) (a) wielding sword and shield by the hands, who is

holding disc, sharp sword, ,shield, arrow, bow, string and having

fore finger pose (b) who is bright like the fire, who is wearing the

moon ( on the forehead ) and who is three eyed.

The Goddess who is beautiful like the crimson Bandhuka flowers (c )

who stands on (the chest of ) five headed (d) one who holds ( on the

head ) the gem helmet having the digit of the shining moon, who is

decorated with the garland of human skulls, who is three eyed, who

wears red clothes, who possesses full and high breasts like pitcher,

who holds the books ( Vedas ) and the rosary ( in HER left hands) and

who (grants ) boon (e) and gives protection (f) from fear ( by the

right hands ) and who is extolled by the Agamas (g) (only ) should

always be meditated upon with utmost devotion.

Salutation to Kali (a) whose lotus feet are decorated with anklets

studded with jewels, who grants the desired objects (b) who is

beautiful with the girdle, silk garments inlaid with gems and

necklace, who is blue coloured, who shines with the three-eyes, who

possesses thousand hands with thousands of weapons like spear and the

rest, who is beautiful with the pair of erect, full and high breasts

who wears a bejeweled diadem emiting the luster of nectar and is the

beloved consort of Siva.
