Guest guest
I would like to know about women (saints, Bhaktas) who practised Shiva Bhakti. Are there among them women who worshipped Shiva as their Beloved? I am not sure but I think Lalleshvari was one of them. Does someone know if I am right, and if other woman-saints or disciples followed that way of worship too? Kind regards, Alexandra

Karaikkal Ammaiyar for one. She is mentioned in PeriyaPuranam. Another womensaint, I dont remember the name,(Probably Akka Mahadevi or something similar)looked upon Shiva as her son. The spouse of a Shiva Bhakta named Nilakantha Yazpanar, also mentioned in PeriyaPuranam can also be added to this list. The Kalahasti Mahatmya mentions three daughters of a certain woman who are great Shiva Bhaktas. There should be many more. The above are just from the top of my head. rgds
