What is Project Bakthi?

 

It is a community project in Singapore, that explores the basic

knowledge, teachings and concepts in Hinduism which are open to any

God lover. In the current society of communal hatred and sectarian

violence, it's high time we remember the gentle message of love

and

worship. The main aim of this project is to cultivate the feeling of

universal peace into every seeker, invoking the sense of devotion for

the Supreme reality, the Almighty. We proposed this project with the

emphasis on the future leaders of the world – The Children. It is

very essential to mold the children of present generation to develop

them both intellectually and spiritually, maintaining a steady

balance in the juggle of life between the material world and thy

self. An intense emotional attachment and love of a devotee towards

god is our main focus.

 

Derived from the Sanskrit verbal root bhaj, originally meaning "to

share, to apportion", bakthi came to mean "love, sharing, worship,

devotion". Bakthi integrates aspects of personal religious

experience, social protest, and a variety of ritual modes around a

notion of intimacy with one's deity that colours all aspects of human

existence. The way of bakthi (bakthi-marga) is contrasted with other

means of achieving salvation, such as knowledge (jnana-marga), ritual

and good works (karma-marga), and ascetic disciplines of the body. It

is claimed by its supporters to be a superior way, as well as one

open to all -- irrespective of gender, class, or caste status into

which they were born.

 

Thus the prime motive of this project is to create a general

awareness among the blessed souls, especially the tender blooming

children of God that– "The heart, when its constructions have

been

dissolved in love and complete devotion, becomes a radiantly blissful

path to God."
