Guest guest
My dearest friends and Siblings, Today is the Equinox. It is the Spring Equinox for most people; Autumnal Equinox in Australia and Argentina and other places in the South. Spring Equinox is supposed to be a time for joy and celebration. This is when the light begins to triumph over the darkness, and warmth over the cold. It is a time when life returns to the land. Trees awake from their slumber. Flowers bloom. Birds sing. This year, however, the joy is marred by sadness. A shadow moves over the land. A great tragedy begins. Yet let us celebrate the Equinox nevertheless. What it symbolizes is still true, and still to be cherished. Perhaps this year, the darkness has a bit more strength than ususal, a bit more capacity for harm. But the light will triumph nonetheless. Trees will still awaken. Flowers will still bloom. Birds will still sing. Even in the sacred valley of the Tigris and Eurphrates Rivers, where the shadow is the darkest, Nature will survive the assault and bloom once again. Such is the circle of live. Summer leads to Winter, and Winter leads to Summer. Life brings death, and death brings life. In times of hardship, we must never lose faith that good times will follow the bad, that the light will some day, somehow, prevail. I wish everyone much joy and happiness this Equinox, and every day of the year. May the Great Mother bring a song to your heart and a smile to your lips. Jai Ma!
