Hello Kalyx! How funny to run into you here! :) I'm also relatively

new to this list and most of the reading is way over my head too, but

I'm very excited about how much I've learned since I joined just

lurking and reading. I, too, was drawn here by Matagni. I was doing

an internet search because I read somewhere about her connection to

Sarasvati and I stumbled upon this website and list. Now I've decided

I'm going to try to learn as much about Tantra as possible and weave

it into my personal path.

As for vultures, I know that in the Ramayana a vulture tries to

rescue Sita after she had been kidnapped and is injured trying to

protect her. Also I remember reading an article on the NPR website

last summer about the vulture population in India dying off, I found

the link:

http://www.npr.org/programs/atc/features/2002/june/vultures/

The article made the point that the vultures solved a major problem

of disposing of deceased sacred cows and that their disappearance has

caused problems.

I hope this helps with your question.

Love and light always,

Allison ;)

Namaskar, Kalyx:

Thank for for your kind words; it is a pleasure to meet another

Matangi bhakta.

*** Already I can see that much of the posts are way above my head ***

Please do not feel that way. The concepts being discussed here are

quite simple in their essence. The more complex ideas tend to be

details that enhance one's sadhana, but are not essential. The most

essential thing is the bhava, or feeling, that one brings to her or

his devotional efforts. Some would disagree with me I am sure, but

unless you are seeking lesser powers rather than larger spiritual

goals, the feeling is more important than the mechanics.

*** I actually follow a different path ... other what I've learned

through my devotion to Mother Matangi I don't know much about

Tantra) ... so I'm just going to delight in being among those who

know Her, be quiet and learn. ***

Please feel free to share from your path, and to ask any questions

you may about Shakti Sadhana. We are all learning here, all the time -

- but if we were all quiet, it wouldn't be much of a discussion

group, would it? ;-)
