How beautiful is the morning,

All bright in its tranquility!

Clear blue is the depth of the heaven,

And the earth is silent and calm.

The bloom is purple upon the mountains,

The waters are transparent in the valley

The light leaves tremble above the mosses,

And the white stems are mottled with moving shadows.

In the alchemy of light,

The branches are decked with greenery,

And every leaf is a sweet influence to the broad wind.

I am partaker of unspeakable joy,

The soul of the world

Is the brightness of the day

Untouched and unvanquished forever.

Hello, and thank you, Sister Usha Devi, for your post, and for your

recent posts about Inanna, and the prayer you wrote, which I

enjoyed very much. After reading your post, I found more

information about the Inanna hymns in Riane Eisler's book

entitled Sacred Pleasure: Sex, Myth and the Politics of the Body -

New Paths to Power and Love. (I discovered author Riane Eisler

through Shakti Sadhana; she's wonderful!)

Your recent posts have inspired me to post something of my

own. Following is one of my songs, which your Rollo May post

reminded me of due especially to its first line. I posted awhile

ago that I would put a chant on my website that I've been working

on, but it isn't yet ready for public consumption. I'm sharing these

lyrics now instead.

In Joy,

Mary Ann
