Together with the Translated version. http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Namastrotras/devisooktam2.html 2. I have started with the compilation of discussions held over the message board. I have only started off with four topics : a. Mahishasura Mardini b. Devotion c. Is the Goddess A Feminist? d. The gender Issue. Hopefully, DEVI's willing, this page will be continuously updated. http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Articles/Messageboard/Messageboardmain ..html 3. Photo Gallery My private collection of Meenakshi-Sundareswarar Wedding, held at Singapore Kaliamman Temple. The occasion is not as grand as that in India obviously, but these pictures is meant to give our members some ideas how these weddings ceremony are held. It is a serious occasion and the preparation itself is like an actual wedding. We print cards, proved food for all the guest etc. http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Photo% 20Gallery/Divinewedding/AWEDDING1.html
Guest guest
Vanakam Nora, Deviji, Most wonderful site, thank you for sharing the good works too! Love the Devi Hymms and look forward to seeing the unfoldments. Was eager to see the Meenakshi-Sundareswarar Wedding photo but when I clicked on the link, it said "404-File Error". Maybe its something to do with my Pc.. Btw, please can you tell if the Singapore Kaliaman Temple is on Serangoon Road? Many thanks. Guest guest
Sri Vairavimada Kaliamman Temple Sri Vairavimada Kaliamman Temple has been in existence for more than a century, and can therefore be regarded as one of the oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore. This Temple was one of the earliest Hindu Temples to be built in a densely Populated Housing Estate (Toa Payoh) in an effort to bring religious institutions closer to devotees. The Hindu Endowments Board of Singapore is administering the Temple. This is one of those temple with good sculptures all around it especially the Mahishashuramardhini. Regular pooja held during auspicious days and occasions for DEVI. It has been one of my Favorite Kaliamman Temple. There are many other Good Temples and not only in Serangoon Road (the Little India). I was told there's another called: SivaDurga. Have becoming a very popular amongst the Singaporean as well as Malaysian. Along Serangoon Road there are Sri Vadapatirakaliamman Temple. Then if you are interested, in Johor Bahru (Malaysia) there's the RajaKaliamman. A 20 feet tall Kali in her fierce form. You will stand there before here awestruck when you see HER. Guest guest
Namaste Noraji, Most grateful for the information about the Kaliamman Temple and other temples as well. It is wonderful to hear about the work of the Hindu Endowments Board of Singapore. I have a travel guide book but it doesn't say very much about temples. Though I'd spent considerable time in Singapore when younger, my memory is now rather dim. I can only remember the Chettiar Temple, Thaipusam and the Kavadi processions. When I get to Singapore, I shall visit a couple of the temples you mentioned, especially Kaliamman and SivaDurga. The Johor Bahru 20 ft Kali Ma in Her fierce form sounds awesome!! If time permits during my trip, I'll get across the Causeway. If not this time, then in November. Now there is a strange longing to visit this particular Kali Ma. Thank you Noraji. Maa's blessings be with you always, AumGanesh , "Nora" <ashwini_puralasamy> wrote: > Sri Vairavimada Kaliamman Temple > > Sri Vairavimada Kaliamman Temple has been in existence for more than > a century, and can therefore be regarded as one of the oldest Hindu > Temple in Singapore.
