Guest guest
Okay, I know that I'm not qualified to actually perform a Durga puja. I would like to become qualified but so far there's nothing available in my area that I can tell. However, I did buy the Durga Puja book by Swami Satyananda Saraswati so that I could read through it and see how it was done, or at least how this person interpreted how it was done. Well, recently I have been very troubled by some events and last night I read through this book out loud with as much sincerity as I could put together. As usual I had trouble sleeping, but once I fell asleep, in my dream, my large dog who died last year came to me. There were suspicious and underhanded people lurking about and the dog let me know that he had come to protect me. I felt very glad to see him, relieved in the dream, really comforted. Even after I awoke, in spite of my continuing trepidation, I felt somehow comforted by the dream. I feel that this sense of comfort is a blessing of the Goddess. I thought I would share that here. Is there an exams or a certificate issued that gives a person the right to perform it. You are as qualified as anybody, Prainbrow to perform the Durga Pooja. You don't need to be somebody from a special breed or born in a special group of people to be near Durga or DEVI. Have you ever observe in the General temple some of these priests, while performing or reciting the mantras their eyes wandering around looking at the other activities. Once I asked an Experienced Sadhak on what should I do during auspicious day like Tuesday and Friday, and you know what he replied " Nora if I tell you please do not get angry. The best thing and most appropriate thing to do is to look at DEVI and Smile at HER". When he told me that, I was rather puzzled. Only now I understand what he meant by it and I agree with him. Rituals and Mantras are just nothing if your mind is not focus on DEVI. I Thank You for sharing that special experience.
Guest guest
Thank you Nora. I suspect that Devi smiles back at you today! You've certainly brought a little light to my day.
