Guest guest
In Hinduism, Life is a sacred journey, and in every stages in ones life ( emotional and biological development ) is consecrated with a sacred ceremony to mark the event. This rites of passage or Samskaras are performed during birth, weddings, funerals, coming of age, pregnancy etc. Ritu Kala Ceremony is a coming of age ceremony for girls to acknowledge her first menses. New clothing and jewelry fit for royalty are presented to and worn by the youth, who is joyously welcomed into the young adult community. Girls receive her first sari. I have the opportunity to be invited to a Ritu Kala Home ceremony of a good friend over the weekend. The parent happily allowed me to take some pictures so that I share with Shakti Sadhana members. http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Photo% 20Gallery/ritukala/Aritukala1.html If the above does not work, just go to Shakti Sadhana homepage and click on photogallery. The Pictures are there. http://www.shaktisadhana.org/PhotoGallery.html
