Guest guest
Namaskhar Maxime, Hidakhan is a place in India where the Haidakhan temple is located. It is no doubt true that Haidakhan babaji is a worshipper of Haidakhan (lord shiva) and his consort HaidakandeshwerI Devi (aka as Parvati, Durga , Bhawani ).Babaji and his followers do worship this devi but that does not mean Others cannot worship this divine form of the divine mother Bhavani, Ambaa, Parvati and Durga. The divine MOther is available to all her devotees in all her divine manifestations. Your ishtadebvata or ishtadevi (chosen god/goddess is your personal choice- depends on your guru, his lineage and above all what your inner voice tells you. ) Just like Kasi visalakshi is so called because she is the presiding deity of kasi, madurai meenakshi is so called because she is the presiding deity of madurai, kanchi kamakshi is so called because she is presiding deity of kanchi and dakshimeshwer kali is so called because she is the presiding deity of dakshineshwer temple... Haidakhan is the name of a place and the haidakhan baba is a devotee of the the deities of this temple Haidakhan and Haidakhandeshwer (LORD Shiva and GODDESS Parvati) Jai Maa ! Guest guest
I get the catalog of The Maha Lakshmi Shop (they have a nice selection of bronze <murthies> for sale) at the Haidakhan Babaji Temple in Crestone, Colorado. Their temple image of Haidakhandeshvari Devi has a white complexion, but otherwise looks like Vaishnavi (i.e., She holds discus, conch-shell, mace and lotus, just like Vishnu). I'm curious as to how this (apparently) consort of Shiva looks so much like Vishnu. I was given a yantra medallion of Kamakshi-amma for good luck several years ago. I'm drawn to her image, but know nothing about her <sadhana>. How is she worshipped, what is her mantra, the story of her origins, that sort of thing... -- Len/ Kalipadma On Sat, 24 May 2003 16:11:01 -0000 "Saroja" <vilasini43 writes: > > Hidakhan is a place in India where the Haidakhan temple is located. > It is no doubt true that Haidakhan babaji is a worshipper of > Haidakhan (lord shiva) and his consort HaidakandeshwerI Devi (aka as > Parvati, Durga , Bhawani ).Babaji and his followers do worship this > devi but that does not mean Others cannot worship this divine form of > the divine mother Bhavani, Ambaa, Parvati and Durga. Guest guest
Greetings Len/ Kalipadma "I'm curious as to how this (apparently) consort of Shiva looks so muchlike Vishnu" I am not surprise. It might actually be Vishnu perhaps in his form as Mohini Devi. There is an interesting story about Vishnu as Mohini : Siva saved the world by destroying TripurAsura. The other Asuras feared that Shiva will continue to destroy their entire community, prayed to Vishnu. Vishnu promised and at the advise of Sage Narada, worship Shri Devi in a form of Sri Cakra. He meditate on Shri Devi by repeating the Devi Mahamantra. Devi ParaShakti appeared before Vishnu and taught him the Mantra and the mode of worshipping the Shri Cakra. Result of this worshipping : Vishnu became a great devi upasakas and is able to transform himself into any form he wished for. Once Shiva glanced at Mohini, his mind got agitated and he lost control of his senses. With regards to Kanchi Kamakshi you could refer to message 1083.
