As an Asian from Indian and Chinese influences, this is how I am

being brought up:

The right hand takes food and drink to the mouth.

The left hand is being used to wash/clean orifices especially

excreta/urine etc, as such we are being told that it is

rude/inauspicious to accept gifts or anything from the left hand.

When we receive things, it's always with both hands but with the

right hand above the left.

When we request to be excuse especially with elders around, we used

our right hand as a sign and bend our body lower before we move out.

Out right hand moved forward and our left hand kept at the back.

On the other note:

Almost all the people in the world are naturally right-handed. People

who are left-handed are said to be more creative and good in their

chosen field. When we talk about the left-handed path, it is one of

the most intense forms of path (a warrior path) and often associated

with Shakti. That is why an Aghore (the left handed path) are people

who have mastered it all especially over the auspiciousness and

inauspiciousness.

Look at the pictures of the DEVI's especially the hands that

offer boons and blessings. The right hand pointing upwards, and the

left hand downward.

Does all this denote anything? Not sure or it is just the cultural

thing? Or if its cultural, does it only confine to the Indian Culture

or predominantly an Asian Way of life.
