rules and regulations for sannyas

I am in search for information about the rules and regulations one has to follow

for practice of sannyas.

Living in Europe there is no possiblity for me to take formal sannyas, however,

this is not important, important is to follow the rules and regulations a

sannyasi(ni) has to follow.

Has someone information?

Are there spiritual texts where the rules for sannyasis/sannyasinis are

described?

It is important to take formal Sannyasa. To do so means that

your Guru has observed you for some time and deems you to be

a sincere candidate for Sannyasa. It of course means that you

have a Master - shishya relationship with your Guru and you

have learned from the Master, received Mantra initiation from the

Master, and have demonstrated obedience, self-control, faith,

discrimination, dispassion in all (or most) situations.

 

There are many Swamis in Europe. Try any of the Sivanda Yoga

Vedanta Centers or Ashrams in England, France, Germany,

Spain, or Austria.

 

If and when you are deemed a suitable candidate for Sannyas

you will receive a copy of Swami Sivananda's book, Necessity of

Sannyasa.

 

You may be able to order one from the Divine Life Society in

Rishikesh, India. But without someone to aid you, the contents of

this book will appear overwhelming to you.
