Meaning:

Even if they realize they don't (not capable of) see

the Feet of the Birthless Lord;

They don't seek the route to the great destination;

Without realizing the (further) births,

in mind like the ones covered in dust and unable to

see the path,

without living close to the Feet of the Lovely Lord of

thiruvathikai

who cuts off the hard birth cycle,

listening to those who are worthless for both the

livings (here and after),

I, the stupid, maligned earlier (the Lord).

 

Notes:

1. appar laments the period that was spent away from

the glorious path of shaiva in this thiruththANDakam.

2. They are stuck to their own vicious circle, without

validating the stand even if they are able to realize

that they are living on baseless assumptions. Their

ability to see hindered by their own mist, they are

lost for long in the pursuit of the Ultimate Reality.
