Guest guest
The religion of Aghor Aghor is a complex religion with an unknown number of variations. Customs from one individual aghori to another may differ wildly. Every aghori is different, Yon said. There are some aghoris that eat human flesh all the time, while there are some that eat flesh only once in a lifetime. Aghoris eat human flesh in order to gain the spiritual energy found in every person. They meditate over corpses in an attempt to control the spirit of the dead person. Aghoris believe they should embrace what is considered repulsive to society, but different aghoris approach this in different ways. In the Sonoma Valley of California, a sect of aghoris live in an ashram, a spiritual retreat, where they practice aghor extremely differently than Kapalnath. I dont even call what Kapalnath did aghor, said Ramdev, a practitioner of aghor in the Sonoma Valley. The way we choose to embrace what society is repulsed by, [is] we take on people who have been rejected by society because of bad habits or bad lifestyles."
