Hello Shakti-Folk:

I am "Jennifernf" (jennifer in newfoundland) I'm new to the list but a

long time yoga practitioner. But this was in the stretching and

relaxation aspect only. In recent years I have gradually became more

prayerful in my meditation. And I became aware of Asian religious

traditions and my spiritual path eemed to take me here.

 

My other interests which helped to develop my spirituality include

fine arts, dance, environmental awareness,poetry, and feminism. I have

web pages now for some of these if any sister likes to share. I will

put my photo in the "photos" area of this group.

You're from Newfoundland! Beautiful country up there! I was just in

New Brunswick last week, and am sipping a cup of King Cole tea as I

type this ... ;-)

We're honored to have you among us. I think a lot of people get into

yoga for the physical aspects; but once you get deeper into it, it's

hard to ignore the spiritual dimensions that open up as a result.

Perhaps that's what makes certain other religious traditions nervous

about the practice, as Kochu's recent post notes:
