Guest guest
Greetings! I already dived in and replied to a message, but wanted to post a more complete introduction. First, devi bhakta, thank you for your invitation. It is wonderful to find many like-minded sisters here. I am Melissa. MoonGoddess was my first magickal name, and I still consider it my primary magickal name as my (chosen) last name is "Moon". I decided the world wasn't ready for a person with the last name "Moongoddess". I am a self-initiated eclectic Reclaiming tradition witch of 11 years!! Oh my! I just realized how long it has been. Wow! I live in south central Maine with my partner and two cats. A number of things have touched me in the past year that have made me more receptive to learning more about this group: 1) Last year I "discovered" yoga while at witch camp in Vermont. It was incorporated into the first 30 minutes of group work we had each morning. My reponse was, "OH MY!! It took me 43 years to discover this!! I wish I had learned about it years sooner!" However, I know that everything comes to us in its right time. Last year I was ready for it. 2) For the past 2 1/2 yrs I have been studying with the Fellowship of Isis Iseum Musicum (at the Temple of the Feminine Divine in Bangor, Maine) and this November two other women and I will be ordained as priestesses and legal clergy. Ereshkigal, Ninshubur and Inanna are my patron goddesses, with Ereshkigal as being the one closest to me as *she chose me* three years ago (as of August) at camp. She is very analogous to Kali Ma. I am a double Scorpio, so death, sex and the mysteries are very strong part of my life and my practice. I see the sacredness in the complete cycle of life and know that death and life are simply two sides of the same coin. 3) Recently, I learned about Pema Chodron and read some quotes by her. She is a very amazing and eloquent teacher! Currently, my partner is reading a couple books by her. As I mentioned in my previous message, I am an artist, and work with Celtic knotwork designs, calligraphy and goddess designs. I am also a musician (singer - alto) and love to sing, drum and dance! This is why I also feel a strong affinity for Saraswati. Women's bodies are definitely holy! If we are aspects of the goddess, we are holy!
