It is always a problem when persons have a certain "issue" to prove and does not avoid any means to prove that issue. Evolution is also such an issue and is something I don't mix in. Here I follow the Indian version, and rather might give an image of being a fanatic, just to stay safe. Mahabharata is a true story, and I don't care to discuss the scientific implications of that. Holding a certain thought or "belief" is an issue in itself. As I see it, it is a means to an end, not a goal in itself. So I hold on to certain things, for the teaching value of it. Seeing the world in a different way than the western scientific way, opens up the mind to another viewpoint. When that viewpoint is attained, you have two concurrent viewpoints that might even be opposing. To have two opposing viewpoints, both similarly valid, you have acquired a kind of intellectual flexibility, that makes it easier to understand a third viewpoint. And when the mind and intellect is soft and flexible, it is possible to understand new conclusions and see reality instead of issues. Maya, or illusion, means to hold on to certain illusory properties of this world. The unableness or unwillingness to see behind the scenes, and to see other ways how the same think might be but look the same. Like somone in illusion by the stage illusionist, when he takes a dove out think air, we are in illusion by Maya about the true nature of this world. If we can see how things really are, not how they appear to be, we can understand reality. It certainly looks like evolution. But is that really how it is, or is it an illusion? Is there any other way that things can be, giving the same apperent result? Prisni
