Can you give any documentation of this "Shiva-Shakti-Kali" trinity you are alledging? Most of the trinities in Hinduism reflect the concept of the three <gunas> -- Purity, Activity, and Inertia. In what way does your system incorporate the <gunas>? The traditional "trinity" of Shaktism is Kali, Lakshmi, and Sarasvati. This does not exclude the male, because each Shakti is pregnant with one of the Gods. Black Kali gives birth to blue Vishnu (and gives him in marriage to Lakshmi). Red Lakshmi gives birth to golden Brahma (and marries him off to Sarasvati). White Sarasvati gives birth to ash-grey Shiva (and weds him to Kali). The Trimurti and the Tr-Shakti have here two relationships, Mother-Son and Wife-Husband. There's a third set of pairs -- Kali with Brahma, Lakshmi with Shiva, and Sarasvati with Vishnu. What is the relationship demonstrated here? The other Shakta "trinity" I can think of is contained within the Maha-Devi Herself. As Shiva-Shakti, She is Erotic Mother (Parvati/Uma), Providing Virgin (Durga), and Avenging Tribal (Kali). This comes close to the European/ Wiccan trinity of Maiden, Mother, and Crone. -- Len/ Kalipadma ______________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
