Curiously this city which is now called Avimukta, because Shiva has promised never to leave her, was not always his, he took her over after he had driven out king DivodAsa. Has someone more information about this myth and its hidden meanings? Is it true that Shiva has promised Kashi would be safe during pralaya, because he would keep her above the waters on top of his trisul?
