Guest guest
Hello Janel, Thank you for your kind words! Seems we share similar visions... I am going to Egypt in the spring (to see the country, improve my Arabic, and study dance!). I study the Amarna Period and totally agree with you. I think the Pharoah was sadly misunderstood. And, yes, how interesting the way we see "backlashes" in the ancient world--new conception of "god/s" shakes things up, and his son does his best to blot his father and quickly restore Amun (and the priesthood) to the his place of power. I'm not sure many people know that King Tut was his son and that his name was originally Tut-Ankh-Aten, changing it to Tut-Ankh-Amun. But, perhaps we're getting too far off the group topics! Still, such similarities in society, politics, culture and religion--today, yesterday, West, East. How it all keeps circling 'round. And, of course, what about our beloved Nefertiti??
