Guest guest
Hi Everyone... I have been practicing Ashtanga for a while now and my meditation practice has been predominantly Vipassana. However, over recent weeks when I am entering an absorbtion in meditation I get this unexplainable urge to meditate on either Shiva or Kali!!! This is most disconcerting for me as it goes against the grain of Mindfulness Meditation. If I am to perform this meditation can anyone give me some directions: How am I to meditate on the Goddess? What is the desired goal with this form of meditation? Regards Tony...
Guest guest
Greetings, Aim and purpose of Meditation is universal. Whether it is vipasanna or any other kind. Aim of meditation does not change with your adopted technique. As mind is unsteady, in order hold it we concentrate upon our chosen deity. All religions their associated rites, meditations advocated by realized souls take us to a common point. By nature they are not in conflict, it is our mind that creates disparity among them. There is nothing awful if your mind recommends you to concentrate upon Shiva or Kali. Shiva Linga represents the formless attribute of Brahman. Mother Kali is the functional energy (Shakthi) of the Absolute. There is no set method for meditation. The central aim is to go inward deep rejection all your thoughts, which float superficially. Concentrate upon her beautiful image, develop an urge to reach her. Open yourself to the Mother and surrender all your senses to Mother, let her take over your sadhana. The rest is assured. What one requires are faith, confidence and perseverance. regards anildivine craghopper2003 <craghopper2003 wrote: Hi Everyone...
