Guest guest
Namashkar m6! Das (or dus) means the numeral ten in Hindi and hara means to 'annihilate' or remove. On this tenth day AKA vijayadashami, in northern india , the effigy of the ten-headed Ravana is burnt and reduced to ashes. What do the ten-heads represent? - they are the internal demons in one's body. These are passion, pride, anger, greed , lust, jealousy, hatred, egotism, selfishness and crookedness. So, on the last day that is on dashami, the triumph of 'good over evil' is celebrated. the ten heads are also synonymous with the ten senses ... jnanendriyas and karmendriyas. Have a wonderful Dashera! , "m6" <megalith6@h...> wrote: > Dasera is the 10th night, after the 9 nights of Navratri. > > But what does Dasera mean, please? > > m6
Guest guest
Namaste Sheetalika, You are very kind! Let us - through Maa - defeat the ogre of evil without; But let us first dispell the darkness which dwells within. Joyous Navratri and Dasera to all! m6 , "sheetalika" <sheetalika> wrote: > Namashkar m6! > > Das (or dus) means the numeral ten in Hindi and hara means > to 'annihilate' or remove.
