Guest guest
As some of you may have noticed, Nora and I recently posted detailed meditation pictures of the Chakras -- both in the Photo section in the Group, and (in larger format) at the homepage. However, these pictures by themselves will not make much sense to the uninitiated without a bit of explanation. And so I agreed to post an introduction to each chakra here in the Group, which Nora will then permenantly add to the homepage as a text to accompany each Chakra picture. My approach is as follows. For each Chakra, I will post three passages: (1) a translated extract from the ancient Tantric text, "Sat-Chakra- Nirupana ["Description of the Six Centers"]; (2) a meditational description compiled by Sir John Woodroffe, who, after decades of effort in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, obtained access to some of the most secret documents of Tantric Shaktism; and (3) a commentary by the modern Shakta guru, Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati, of Devipuram, India. My hope is that those members who have an interest in this area will discuss these passages -- whether to agree, disagree, add to, or otherwise deepen our collective knowledge base. The more you can share, the better a resource our Chakra pages will be. Thanks for your help! I hope to hear from many of you as we work to build the Shakti Sadhana homepage.
