Guest guest
Hi All, I've been listening in on this group for a while now and it's interesting how many different faces of the Goddess there are. The subject of Goddess scholarship came up on another list and I suppose it is to the credit of and the thousand and one names for Lalita and other such topics, fragments of topics, and general sentiments, that I expressed my feelings on this subject which I will now share with you. This is not to negate any of the lovely Goddesses already in existence as having been named and felt; it is an expression of how I feel about it from one point of view: If you want a Goddess, reach out and FEEL Her, that's what I say. Stories and myths and scholarship can give us some clues as to what others have felt about such things, but as to what's really out there or in here, as far as I'm concerned I'll trust what I feel more than what a scholar says. IMHO, scholarship is not much more than modern day tribal superstition in modern day "rationalistic" garb, and we are so much more than our rational minds so much more... Why do we need to be Told who the goddess is? There was a time when these things were fresh and people came up with these things based on what they Felt. Why do we now need to go back thousands of years and try to figure out through scholarship what somebody else was Feeling about the Goddess? We can still Feel, in the modern rational age, can we not? I'll give you MY take on this whole "scholarship" business. I can Take scholarship and I can LEAVE scholarship alone. Who NEEDs it? What's so special about scholarship? Scholarship is fine up to a point, but, so much is up to interpretation in so many things that can be made to seem one way Or another. As far as I'm concerned, I have my Own myths that as far as I'm concerned refer to higher realities. A myth, as far as I'm concerned is not something that's Untrue or fictional it is something that's true at a higher level or a deeper level or a subtler level. One could well say auras and the human energy field are myths up to a point I'm sure some see them as fictions. While others feel themselves to have scientifically measured them. If you ask me, with our scientific studies and our statistical analysis we can only go so far. Scientists study a drug and if it helps 50% of people with a certain mental disorder they approve it and call it a cure. But I know a man from Sweden who claims that listening to the spiritual leader of India speak for 20 minutes is more calming statistically than any drug on the market. So, who's going to do the scholarship on That? If you invented a Goddess right now based on what you FEEL, would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Would She be any less real? I would trust such a Goddess assuming I could FEEL Her, more than all the mountains of scholarship... if I can FEEL Her, She is Real. That's my take on this subject...
