yes in general, but sm exceptions are there. acc to Brihannila-tantra

the vidya of Daxina-Kali can be taken for japa even without diksha,

althou if diksha is there it's better. that text gives mantra as

following - OM hrIM hrIM hUM hUM krIM krIM krIM daxiNe kAlike krIM

krIM krIM krIM hUM hUM hrIM hrIM svAhA ..

Shaktananda-tarangini states that mantras of Kali and Krishna can be

chanted even by shudras etc.

as it was told to me by my guru, the great mantras [mahamantras, such

as panchaxari of Shiva, Hare Rama or Daxina-vidya etc] give effect

even without any diksha and their effect is purely spiritual. on the

other hand, occult mantras never should be taken without initiation

and proper knowledge.

Love is the law, love under will.

OM KREEM KALIKAYE NAMAH is the best of all. 108 times on saturdays and 21 times

on other days is good enough, though you can recite 108 times all days too.

93,

It should be "OM krIM kAlikAyai namaH" (and not "kalikaye").

And as per Tantras, this vidya is not generally recommended. Yes, it

is possible and not bad to recite it, but without diksha usually

22-lettered Dakshinakalika-vidya is prescribed.

Otherwise, guru gives the needed vidya personally in diksha ritual.

Maa bless U!

Saturday is the day to invoke the blessings of Maa Kali. It says that she is

closest to the seven layers that seperates heaven from earth.

Why do you recommend to repeat the mantra 108 timeson Saturday in particular?

Thanks in advance, Charlie

How quaint!

Another hindu fairy tale taken for fact.

Vedic astrologers say that Kali Ma is the deity who

can offset any negative aspects of the planet Saturn

(who rules Saturday). Saturn's influence is related

to Time and Eternity, as Kali often manifests in these

aspects as well.

At the Dakshineshwar Temple (where Sri Ramakrishna was

priest) the major pujas to Kali are held on Saturdays

and Tuesdays (ruled by Saturn and by Mars).

Of course, you can approach Kali on any day -- does

one's Mother limit you to a particular planetary

influence?

Exactly my point! Furthermore, since Kali as the Mahashakti

is everything, and is responsible for all action; to say some

days are better than others to worship Her is ludicrous,

despite the superstitious nonsense which seems to suggest

otherwise.

KLIM is the Kama Bija, the Seed Syllable of Desire.

It is usually used for invoking Kama-Deva (the Love

God) or Krishna (who provokes devotion), but it can be

used for Kali as well.

KRIM is the Seed of Transformation, and it's more

exclusively associated with Kali Ma.

Of course it is NOT :). Otherwise why sanskrit has two different vowels, E and

AI?..

It has to be pronounced as "kAlikAyai" and not otherwise if U want to use proper

sanskrit and

not some kind of hindi-corrupted ;).
