Sabha Parva notes that bhImaa made mlecchas dwelling beyond the seas. Parashara smriti 9.36 – suggest that mleccha are referred to as eater's of Cow flesh. Shatapatha brah. 3.2.1.23-24 states that the asuraa's were defeated because they spoke on incorrect and corrupt dialect and that brahmaNa thus should not utter such speech. Vishnu dharma suutra 84.4 states that the country where the system of varNashrama is not in vogue is mleccha territory. Manu Smruti (2.23) describes the mleccha country where black deer roam freely. "kR^iSNasaarastu carati mR^igo yatra svabhaavataH . Vishnu dharma suutra 84. 1-2 prescribe that one should not perform shraddha (last rites) in the mleccha country nor should one visit such country.
