The following workshop is taking place next month at Sacred

Movement studios in Venice, CA (see contact info below). I was

excited to see the title of it and thought I'd post it for the group for

anyone who is in or will be in the area and possibly able to

attend.

Shakti Sadhana - A Pure Yoga Intensive with Rod Stryker

Awakening The Force of Grace

Sunday / November 23 / 12:15-3:45pm / $40

"Sadhana" means practice. "Shakti" refers to Divine power, the

one pervading reality that is the source of all things. Limitless in

scope, the more we can approach/experience this infinite

intelligence the more we become like it. The pathway to this

sublime power is lit by the teachings of Tantra and Kundalini

Yoga. Those traditions describe Shakti as being everywhere and

in every cell, but residing in its greatest concentration in a

dormant state at the base of the spine of every individual. Once

enlivened, she (Shakti) unfolds transcendent joy, limitless

capacity, and boundless knowledge. Shakti Sadhana are those

practices dedicated to awakening one to this sacred force of

spirit.

This three-hour intensive will be filled with practices dedicated to

unleash Divine experience. Some of the profound Yogic and

Tantric methods used will include: Asana, Pranayama, Bandha,

Chanting, Meditation, Visualization, and Contemplation.

Recommended for seasoned practitioners only with a minimum

2 years Asana practice and previous Pranayama experience.
