A series of festivals (Navaratri, Durga Puja and Diwali) have filled

the Hindu calendar for the last six weeks. These celebrations

or `Holy' Holi-days have all presented the `feminine' (Shakti) as

ultimate strength truly worthy of veneration.

The Devi (Divine Divya) is never closer than when we are in the

presence of `woman', who represents all `women' is an archetypal

Mashakti and Makali – mother as power and transcendence.

When it comes to the world of Prakrit or `matter manifesting' Shakti

is the master blueprint of the Universe, whether at the macrocosmic

or microcosmic level.

All are created not `equal' but `female' – men possess nipples but

seldom question why? Not for many weeks after conception does Shakti

(nature) make a decision about transforming ovaries into testicle and

preparing a scrotal pouch for them to be suspended in by knitting

together the labial lips to form seam called the `raphe'.

Nonetheless the polar opposites of Shiva and Shakti enraptured and

entranced by their mutual celestial dance will always manifest in one

form or another. If we males should cease in a hundred years the

polarity would simply emerge within the female population – probably

a proportion of women would carry Shiva dominant energy as "Alpha

Females"!
