Guest guest
Adi: These are too big subjects to be discussed off hand. to discuss one must know what is the level of yourreading already. To start from A is rather impossible. it will take reams of paper. Why not you tell us what you know already and we will take it up from there. Mathrika itself is a word with innumerable meanings. in Matruka nyasa they are thge letters of the sanskrit letters. in many other contexts they have many other meanings. Sapta matrukas are the 7 MOTHERS. so the same word means alphabet and mother. Tell us what you know. In all probablity u know more than us so u can even teach. Guest guest
I have read somewhere that the Matrikas rule over the 8 groups of the Sanskrit Alphabet. But when there are 8 groups in Sanskrit Alphabet, why then 7 mothers?

There is a seal [M430] showing 'seven mothers' or 'sisters', which was recovered from Mohenjo-daro... > > Tell us what you know. Are the 64 Yoginis not related to the 64 petals of a certain lotus/chakra? There is a 64 Yogini Tantric temple at Orissa, in the form of a stone circle sculpture, centred by a block of stone, on which Shiva has been fashioned, in relief.
