Guest guest
Namaste, Not seeing the article fully I don't feel I can comment to much. But I feel that if the man would like to offer a drop of blood to Ma that is between him and Ma honestly. Maybe it is what she asked of him or deep in him he feels he must do for her. I myself offer her my blood. Now I am sorry because I know there are gentlemen on here but the blood I offer is not blood you can offer if you know what I mean. I do not want to get graphic here and "gross " anyone out. I am greatful I am married to a man who understands how sacred my moonblood is. I was moved to do this and felt odd about it for awhile I suppose because of the western views in my society and among my friends and what they might think. I have since discovered several women who do the same to Ma. She brought them to me to show me she is leading me and to trust her. So I see his offer as something of love between him and Mama. I can't say this would be right for all of us. I am sure she knows who will do this right and leads them to do so. It out of love that I make my offering. I hope I am making sense here. As for his predictions. Well good for him I guess. If people wish to line up to ask him for such let them. Who am I to say he is wrong or right? Again having not seen the article in full I feel I can't fully comment because there may be more to the story. Jai Ma! Shelly CT
Guest guest
Om Kali Shelly Ma, Yes you made a lot of sense. Offering menstrual blood is allowed in tantric practice but it will be better if it is done with proper method. Learning the proper method will be good approach on this matter However once the menstrual cycle stops I wonder what will be your offering or would there no more offering to be made ??? Since it is out of love , I believe the scripture says anything offered out of love is accepted but that is in bhakthi yoga .And menstrual is offered in tantric path which must be based on proper procedures………………. Please note in usual circumstances the lady during the menstrual cycle are not allowed to step into temple as she is considered not clean . Even at home she would be refrained from cooking and does not get involve in any household activities but stays alone . However in tantric practice the very not clean item is offered to God because to bring the practioner beyond both positive and negative perception of things . The tantrik learns that nothing is impure in this world and pure or impureness are based on one's mind and not on essence of things . Shelly Ma is right to say that if you are doing something out of love Ma will guide us through one day. However we must be open to know when is the moment and willing to change according to the way she is trying to teach us without being attached to the old way when She show us the path Let me share a story on this matter; A man use to pray very devotedly to Lord Krishna and Lord Krishna said there is a flood coming to your village and I will save you. True enough in two days a flood swept and people saw this man reciting Krshna name in his house .One of them called him out as the water was at his calf level. The devoted man replied not to worry as Krsna promised to save him. After sometime a group of men called at him as the water have raised to the level of their shoulder and the devoted man asked them to go away and told them not to worry as Krsna promised to save him. About half an hour later few boats men came on their boat and called him out and he gave them the same answer. Sadly he died with frustration stood at the heaven door when the Lord Yama ( Lord of Death) told Krsna this guy was not on the list . Before Krsna could say hello the devoted man asked furiously why did Lord Krsna did not keep up to his promise and Lord Krsna answered " You mean to say , you did not follow the first guy ,the group of men nor the boatmen!!!! Ma guide us through guru, scripture and in our heart. Trusting our heart is good if we are pure inside . Cultivation of devotion would be better with assistant of Guru or scriptures. The majority seem to associate love for God according to one `s own practice will suffice in spiritual pursuit . The shastras says those with pure unconditional love alone are fit for this . For the rest of us it is good to go through a guided approach -ritual Bhagawan Ramakrishna use to say do not worry about rituals once you have pure love it (ritual) will drop by itself like the husk that drops from the rice once the rice mature but he also said rituals are necessary during the early evolution of an aspirant spiritual life as important as embankment of river for the water to reach the ocean. Once the water reach the ocean the embankment is not necessary anymore………….. Once Swami Vivekakanada after Bhagawan passed away saw a group of bramachari sannyasi getting emotional singing a song and rebuked them saying mere emotionalism does not reflect nor cultivate devotion for God. I love your devotion for Mama and hope She blesses you with more devotion towards Her …………………….. May you cultivate pure love for Her…………. May She always guide your inner self closer to Her…………….. May the scripture and guru manifest your unconditional love for Her ………… Jai Kali !!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
I am very fortunate I suppose that my cycle allows me each month to offer Mama my moonblood at the dark moon. It is at that time I have my own special ritual with this offering. The rest of the month I may offer her anything from food to my tears to the work I do as a wife and mother that serve my family. I also have a garden and will offer the best from it and the special plants I have only growing for her I tend to with prayer and reverence. I sing and offer my voice in song to her. I also recieved a long time ago a recipe I suppose of an insence that can be made with mentral blood to offer to Kali. So I will offer that as well. I have read about how a woman is unclean during her moontime. I am sorry to say I think a savite is behind this. I personally belive long ago that much like the Native Americans a woman at this time must have been honored and revered but who else but a woman could bleed like this and not die? It is a time of power and connection to the Earth. I know I had read someplace that it was really the power that the women have at this time that scared the men. I will try to remember where it was I read this but I know it came from a Hindu book. I will admit I like the idea of a rest once a month to mediate and honor this special time that one day will leave me and I will have great sorrow but will revel in the fact that I am going to be going to a new stage in my life. At this time yes my offerings will change and Mama will let me know what to do. I have no attachement to it I guess you could say except that I love Mama and this is my offering at this time. Unfortunately I do not have the support to stop functions as they are in this house. As many may or may not know I am the mother of 5 children whom I homeschool so they are with me 24/7 nearly. My children(boys included) do know when it is mom's moontime and know to let me rest as much as I am able. I do scale back on things to rest spending the week before cleaning and preparing for my blessed event. Meals are more simple and we often stay home that week. Years ago my husband suggested I take extra time for myself and gather a special basket of supplies for my moon time for a ritual bath. I had just dreamed this as an old woman had come to me and said it was time for me to offer myself more fully. And since I have done this. Either in the ritual bath or in the early spring and fall I am known to sit on the grass and bleed as my offering. So it is not always at my altar. When pregnant the last two time I offered both my children to her. If you were to meet my youngest son Jacob you would see pure devotional love for Mama. He awakes and says good moring to her and will ask to hold my satues and so he can put his face to her and just sigh with love and close his eyes. For my Guru Ammachi he does the same thing and says, "Amma is Kali and Kali is Amma" with a big smile and then he will go on and on about how much he loves her. I actually had a hard time this last time we went for Darshan as he wanted so much to just go to her and not have to wait to see her like we did. My last pregnancy ended with my child dying in the womb (at 4 months pregnant) . I had offered this little one to her from the moment I found out. When the ultra sound showed my baby had died I was filled with confusion and anger but I offered the baby to her still. Those who know my full story know that Mama was with me the 2 weeks I walked trying to miscarry my dead baby to avoid the hospital. I took me sometime to see that the little baby chose me for the short life it needed to then merge with Mama. I am sorry I did not mean to ramble here or sound like a mad woman either in my devotion for Mother. I just love her so very very much. I belive she guides me and shows me what it is I need to know. She brings in the people I need to have in my life to teach me and share with me to help me remember what it is I have lost and forgotten this time around to show me that I do know in my heart what I need to do. It was brought up weather there is a wrong way and a right way to offer or do ritual to Mama. I suppose one could say there is a right way and I pray and ask for forgiveness when I offer that I am just wife and mother and a woman and that my offerings will please her and to forgive me if I do something wrong. And Mama smiles at me and laughs and tells me "my child there is no wrong in my eyes...for only love is needed" Jai Ma! Shelly

Guest guest
DEAR all, First my appology to Devi Baktha and Kochu Menon for not thanking and responding on time. I encountered the similar problem as one of the member clearly expressed, so ,I decided to try first and then respond but in the meanwhile,my husband cautioned me of virus scare and suggested me to update my software before opening the e-mail. This took 3 whole days. Hence delay. I went through the audo from Guruji and try to follow the wording with Mrs. Kandaswami's suggested site - but the problem remains the same. I could not follow the text with audio (word to word). If you have already send the stotram - then may be I did not receive it, as my mail box was overloaded. So, can you please suggest an alternate site from where I can get above stotram and follow the same with audio recoding of Guruji. Thanks in advance, raji. >"Devi Bhakta" <devi_bhakta > > > Re: Lost in the Khadgamala Stotram >Mon, 03 May 2004 15:35:27 -0000 > >Dear Brianna: > >Thanks as always for your comments about the Khadgamala Devis Series. >I suspect that you are correct when you say, "It's not that it's >really obvious to everyone else! Guest guest
Dear Raji: If you click on the photo or name of the Khadgamala Devi of the week, you'll be taken to a page where you can download the corrected document. You'll also find the corrected text by clicking "Files" in the menu at left. Fonts for viewing the Devanagari script and Roman transliteration are there also. Best of luck DB , "rajeshwari iyer" <rajii31@h...> wrote: > DEAR all, > > First my appology to Devi Baktha and Kochu Menon for not thanking and > responding on time. > > I encountered the similar problem as one of the member clearly expressed, so > ,I decided to try first and then respond but in the meanwhile,my husband > cautioned me of virus scare and suggested me to update my software before > opening the e-mail.
