Guest guest
Namaskar Prasadji, This is a literal interpretation of the word . The bengal word was actually kamini and kanchana . It actually means lust and desire . The Gospel must be read and interpretated in proper light . Allow me to share 2 instances from Thakur's daily life that reperesented this ; 1. Once his critics decide to test him by sending a prostituite to his room .At sight of her he fall to her feet thanking Divine Mother for allowing him to see HER in that form as well. This sent the prostituite coming out of the room crying 2. A wealthy man once waited to meet Thakur Maharaj because having the impression Bhagawan as great renouncer of the world but as soon as they met , Bhagwan fell on the leg of the wealthy man When the wealthy man ask why in surprise Bhagwan answered yes he have renounced every desire to attain god but the wealthy man have renounced GOD for desire of material living thus he said to the wealthy man, "you are the greatest renouncer I have ever met!!!" This prompted the yearning for desire to attain GOD in the wealthy man for which the man went into sadhana after this brief darshan of Bhagawan. The original Kathamrita came in 5 volumes later reduced to 2 volume by which the monk of Ramakrishna Math worked their volume . They are 2 gospel work that is done as it is .One by Swamiji for Ramakrishna Math in tamil and the other is currently worked by Swami Satyananda Maharaj of Devi Mandir . This voluminious work of 5 books would take at least 2 years to be completed knowing Swamiji who is an adept sanskrit as well as bengal scholar I suggest you obtain the tamil transliteration first. Guest guest
namaste....if i may elaborate on this: what Sri Ramakrishna meant by "women and gold" was indeed, "desire and lust". He was tring to establish authenticity of the Tantric teachings. He felt that the best and quickest way to enlightenment was to not indulge in lustful behavior, but to look at all women as divine beings and see them as aspects of the Divine Mother. it has been said that seeking enlightenment with selfish thoughts is like like entering a palace through a drainpipe--it will make for a long, difficult, and dirty journey.
