Guest guest Posted December 8, 2003 Report Share Posted December 8, 2003 An extravaganza of Culture, Cuisine and Craft This colourful event is organized to increase awareness amongst public especially in Malaysia and Singapore of the rich cultural heritage of India. The temple of Fine Arts will present various aspects of culture, cuisine and crafts throughout each day. 1. Cultural performances of dance and music by Temple of Fine Arts International and Local cultural groups will be held daily between 7pm – 9pm. The items will range from classical, fold to contemporary dance and music. 2. Sale of Indian artifacts and apparel by Lavanya the visual arts division of the Temple of Fine Arts. A major attraction will be a display cum sale of handicrafts and apparel from our women's welfare unit in India. A special range of artifacts, sarees and costume jewellery will also be available for your selection. 3. Games, demonstatrations and competitions for the whole family. There will be demonstrations by artisans from India. You will see the sculptor at work. Cooking, mehendi and other interesting demos, also awaits you. There will be Art and fancy dress competition; palm reading too. 4. Food Galore from all parts of India. Dance India Taste India will also feature the flavours and aromas of cuisine from the various parts of India; from Punjab in the north, to Kerala in the South. All food prepared will be vegetarian, under the excellent supervision of Annalakshmi, the Culinary Division of Temple of Fine Arts. There is no menu price for the food served at this event. You are invited to "Eat as you Wish and Give as you Feel". What you give will indeed support and sustain the many cultural traditions to be featured at the event and also to the service wing of Temple of Fine Arts, Sivananda Free Clinic. Admission to this event is free but all purchase of food, beverages and participation in games are by coupons available at the Temple of Fine Arts. Purchase of Artefact and apparel from Lavanya will be by coupons, cash and credit card. A) Malaysia, Johor Bahru : At the Spastic School, 138 Jalan Dato Menteri, 80100 JB.
