Guest guest
Respected members, I wish to ask a question. Two or three days ago, because of my carelessnes a devi picture caught fire in my pooja sthana. I actually had two pictures of the same form and was unsure of whether i wanted to keep this or not. However, i was depressed about this. Even more so, because a part of a picture of "shiv parvati with ganesh" which is very dear to me was slightly charred. While shiva and ganesh look untouched, Ma gouri's left hand is slightly burned. i am heartbroken about this. i am aware that it is not advisable to keep burnt/ broken pictures in the pooja room. However, i am not in India and it is not easy to find a replica (which i badly want), not even a replacement. What am i supposed to do? Disperse the picture in water immediately? Or can i keep it out of the pooja room till I make a trip to india and find another one? or can i continue to use this picture for chanting to shiv parvati? also, is there a prayschit, or such a thing for this inauspocious happening?? thanks and regards, kadambari
Guest guest
suppose your mother's or daughter's hands got burn't, will you throw her into water? or would you take her to hospital and get it treated? If you are in the habit of throwing away your near and dear ones just because they got hurt, then throw away the pic. And you had two pics of the same so one got destroyed so that your dilema of which one to keep is solved. Get someone who is tech savy to repair the pic, scan and repair. If not just let me know what the pic is and I will see whether I can get a copy here and mail it to you. It is the unnecessary fears that cause trouble. When you have fear it acts as a badha. The prayaschita is to be fearless. Kochu kadambari <kadambaridevi wrote: Respected members, I wish to ask a question. Guest guest
dear kadambari devi, it is said that one should not worship a mutilated moorthi.and since the left hand is burnt i think it is wise to do visarjana with the correct procedure and place a new photo in ur pooja place.it is said that having the two pictures of same diety ,two shiva linga and two moorthis of same diety can bring daridhratha(bad luck) to the house.i think u can get the photo of shiva gauri and ganapthi on the net with a few searches.or u can install their seperate pictures with their respective yantras.prann pratishtith yantras are available from mantra shakti kendra ,jodhpur and prann pratishtitth photos are also available here.go to www.siddhashram.org for details. jai gurudev soham
Guest guest
Namskar Sri Menon ji, suppose your mother's or daughter's hands got burn't, will you throw her into water? or would you take her to hospital and get it treated? If you are in the habit of throwing away your near and dear ones just because they got hurt, then throw away the pic. --I raised this issue because i know of Ramkrishna pramhansa repairing the famous kali moorti by his spiritual powers, after it was damaged. And you had two pics of the same so one got destroyed so that your dilema of which one to keep is solved. --na, there was no delima -i did not want the one which was burnt. Get someone who is tech savy to repair the pic, scan and repair. If not just let me know what the pic is and I will see whether I can get a copy here and mail it to you. --Thank you very much for your kindness. It is the unnecessary fears that cause trouble. When you have fear it acts as a badha. The prayaschita is to be fearless. --yes, you are right. Thanks again for your reply. I got my answers/directions in prayers today. There is no reason to worry. Infact, if i am not my damned fool self, this can be very auspicious. regards, kadambari
