That environment was like the desert that is the shade of fire in which the fiery rays of sun pierce through. In that direction the resolute true ascetic reached. Notes: 1. By the description given in periya purANam, appar had crossed major portion of Tibet in his pursuit to worship Lord at kailAsh. It may have been a very short distance more, and probably God wanted to bless for his austerity a kailAsh itself for the rest of the masses at thiruvaiyARu !! Probably. God only knows ! But we definitely got a kailAsh to worship with ease. A very astonishing thing is the description of the route taken by appar, in periya purANam. While many may be aware of upto the thick forests at the bottom of himalayas, the repeated mention of the desert is astounding ! That too for the cEkkizAr who resides far south of the bhArat !! (<A HREF="http://www.shaivam.org/pilgrim.htm">description of the kailAsh yatra</A>). 3. kaDam - very difficult route. ===== --\ ----------- Name of hara encompass ! World be free from sufferings !!
