Guest guest
Sometimes I read that BalaTripuraSundari is the form of LalitaMahaTripuraSundari as a virgin of sixteen years, and that Bala is sometimes called Shodasi. Other times I read that BalaTripuraSundari is the nine years old daughter of LalitaMahaTripuraSundari who fought against the sons of the asura Bhanda, while Shodashi is a different goddess. I am confused. Can someone help with information? Alex Photos - Get your photo on the big screen in Times Square
Guest guest
Hi Alex: Bala Tripurasundari and Shodashi are both aspects of Lalitha as Mahadevi. Bala is Her child form; Shodashi is Her teenage form ("shodashi" is simply Sanskrit for 16); both have Their various legends and stories. Lalitha is approached through Her many different aspects (Bala, Shodashi, and others) at different times, depending on the aspirant's needs, level of attainment, and/or the direction of her or his guru. Hope that helps? Aum Matangyai Namahe
