Guest guest
Your post raises many questions: Who recommended this japa? Someone with extensive knowledge and experience of the technique? Someone who is intimately familiar with your personal circumstances and needs? A complete stranger? Also, did you ask this person why they recommended the japa? How did she or he reply? Without knowing more about you, your situation, and the context within which the advice was offered, it is difficult to answer your post intelligently. Regardless of all that, however, let me make a suggestion: Why not simply try it? Not just once, but as often as you can, and for as many days, weeks or months as it feels right. Then, perhaps, you will understand on your own why it was recommended to you. And even if you don't reach this understanding, I can promise you this: The japa will do you no harm. Guest guest
Namaskar, Where can I find this recitation? As I am recently unemployed, of course I have been praying and meditating...and sending out resumes and filing for unemployment...but I wish to do all that I can and prayers and recitations give me a sense of peace. I looked in our file section but I didn't recognize this if it is indeed there. I do appreciate your guidance. Guest guest
Namaskar Prainbow ... There are several Durga stutis that I know of, not just a single formula; I don't know which one the original poster was referred to. There are books and CD's with these recitations for various deities; all differing from one another a little or a lot. In any event, here is a listing of 108 names that you might appreciate, along with english translaion, and an mp3 recitation -- horrible sound quality, I'm afraid, but perhaps a useful guide: http://www.mantraonnet.com/108durganames.htm I wish you the best of luck in this time of hardship and introspection. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as well, not to mention those of your many other friends in the group. Time is forever flowing, and change is inevitable. Try to cherish each moment -- even the unpleasant ones -- for the lessons that they bring, and know that happier, more comfortable times will inevitably come again. Guest guest
Blessings DB, Thank you so much for this. My mom's PC didn't recognize the .ram file so I couldn't hear the recitation, but I did print out the names to take with me. Thank you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I am doing my best to walk the path that the Mother provides for me. I pray that I not be afraid to serve Her honestly and to the best of my abilities. Fear is the only true demon most of the time. I'll put you all in my prayers as well. I feel it is good to be grateful and generous in times of need as that is likely the times of the Mother's greatest generosity to one, though it may be unseen. Guest guest
Dear Prainbow: Thank you. I am sorry for not having replied sooner. *** I am doing my best to walk the path that the Mother provides for me. I pray that I not be afraid to serve Her honestly and to the best of my abilities. Fear is the only true demon most of the time. *** You will be fine, I am absolutely sure of it. May She bring you all happiness, health, prosperity and fulfillment in the coming year. *** I feel it is good to be grateful and generous in times of need as that is likely the times of the Mother's greatest generosity to one, though it may be unseen. *** That is for sure. Guest guest
"I pray that I not be afraid to serve Her honestly and to the best of my abilities. Fear is the only true demon most of the time" Greetings to you Prainbow. Sorry for the silence for I have been preoccupied with my non web obligations. Many many years ago, I was asked by a lady who was in trance "What do you actually want". I know not then who or what she is but my only reply was : I seek courage, wisdom and strength. For it is the courage that leads one to go on living, wisdom to guide us in this journey and the strength to gives us the ability to move forward. Indeed fear is the demon that bind us in our journey. In my opinion only when we have overcome this Fear factor we can actually say we are truly free. And the only way that we can really remove this fear is to confront the fear itself, deal it "face to face" and dissect it. Understand the physiology of this Fear and only then we do realize that fear is nothing but the by product of our own insecurities. Do not let the hunter hunt you, turn it around and you becomes the hunter instead.
