Guest guest
This question has bothered me for quite some time. Please read this and provide your enlightened perspectives...please Our human body is inhibited and hindered by karmic forces that we bring to our current life from previous lives. The good, bad, ugly deeds from lives before have to play out in our current life - after all it is all a path, a journey - that we need to pass through. Thus, the destiny - astrological stars - that we are born with - enforce their will on our lives - seemingly dictated by these very karmic forces. For spiritual growth - for us to progress in our journey, it seems clear that we shouldn't mess with these karmic forces, but bear the consequences - accept unequivocally the good and the bad. That is the key for our progress But, in case we attemtp to fix the bad because we are unable to bear the 'pains' - through mantras, stones, rudrakshas, poojas etc etc. - does it postpone the karmic play, to maybe our next life? Does this still play out in some other form in our current life? Are we hindering our progress by trying to fix the bad? I do feel quite strongly that our karma should be left to play out and that will help lead to spiritual growth. Please do share your experiences in this... Guest guest
I do no think that attempting to alter one's karma is a bad thing. If we have knowledge of past lives, and misdeeds in them, and knowledge of our own failings in this one, does it not make sense to try to transcend ones failings/karma? Is it not the goal of the soul to learn, apply wisdom and grow in spirit? A certain fatalism in ones beliefs and practice might inhibit a person from growing and achieving insights, even in the midst of living out karma, and attempting to transcend it, by simply accepting it. I think the whole point of existence is to learn, and to love. How can trying to offset bad or negative things be bad, if your intent is to be a better soul? Guest guest
Namaste, Sadhana "through mantras, stones, rudrakshas, poojas etc etc." does not postpone karma but speeds it up so that you will achieve your goal faster. With sadhana, you can burn through lifetimes of accumulated karma. This is why it is said that you must have a guru to chant a mantra. Mantra WILL work to some degree whether or not you have a guru. However, if you do not have a guru to guide you through what may happen when your karma speeds up, you could be in for a rough and unpleasant experience. Guest guest
Man is not destined to undergo his karma. At his will he can redeem his karma. This is not an easy task, but not impossible. It requires greater determination and faith on Mother. Although scriptures preach one has to undergo his karma, parallel to such there are parables of ardent devotees who have excelled against their karma. Few to quote are Markandeya & Savitri. In Savitri a cosmic poem, Sri Aurobindo's greatest voyage of Spirit writes "… Pain is the hammer of the gods to break A dead resistance in the mortal's heart, His slow inertia as of living stone….. " ….."Fate is a balance drawn in Destiny's book. Man can accept his fate, or he can refuse. For doom is not a close, a mystic seal The spirit rises mightier than defeat Its splendid failures summed to victory…… regards anil Shiva Bhakta <shivabhakta wrote: This question has bothered me for quite some time.
