Guest guest
Mary has been getting a lot of good press lately. This is a good thing. It means a lot of attitudes have shifted in the West about sexuality, physicality and women in general which is sort of ironic with the rise of gnoticism in Christianity today. There is an odd thing about the Roman Church that puzzled me and that involves the reverence of Jesus's mother and the "mother church" but the esteem for women seems somewhat lower in real world terms. I wonder if it is due to Mother Mary being such an ideal that there is a loss of appreciation with the here and now world and existence of women. Please understand that I am such an outsider to it. Thanks for the website. Respectfully, Eric PS The article makes an assumption that the cause of the inquisitions was due to the church wanting to hunt down offspring of Jesus. My take is that they were started simply to maintain power of Roman church and who got in the way whether they be prince or pauper didn't matter. , bliss_108_joy <bliss_108_joy> wrote: > http://www.geocities.com/prithwis/dynaFrame.htm?PhiloIndex.html > > > > > New Photos - easier uploading and sharing > >
