Dear Editor4educomp:

My only comment, upon "reading and pondering" your post is that you

have shown rather poor judgment, not to mention atrociously bad

manners.

You have only been a member of Shakti Sadhana for about two weeks,

and yet your first "official" communication and introduction ignores

the ancient and bottomless wisdom of Hindu/Vedic/Tantric/Shakta

scripture, choosing instead to merely cut-and-paste (without credit

or reference) a pamphlet called "Father's Love Letter" -- designed

by a Canadian evangelist group whose Web site declares that "as you

begin your new life as God's child, you will have the privilege of

getting to know Him as your Father! You are now part of His

incredible family, by faith in Jesus Christ!"

Now, there is no doubt that Christianity (like any other religion)

is capable of bringing peace and fulfilment to its adherents. The

only thing that leaves me scratching my head is why some so-called

Christians choose to (ignorantly and rudely) dump their pamphlets in

clearly inappropriate places -- especially when such souls

frequently have little or no idea about (or interest in) what peace

and fulfilment other faiths might offer.

After all, most of us here in this group are paying homage to Devi

every day, every moment if we can. We are actively practicing our

faith. We are spending time with and within the Divine, while

gathering and sharing with others who are traveling the same path.

We are not wasting our time offending Christian discussion boards by

dumping Shakta pamphlets there. We are actually walking our path and

learning more and more about its beauty, rather than vainly trying

to convince others that ours is the only or best path.

As Swami Vivekananda wisely noted long ago, "As soon as a man stands

up and says he is right or his church is right, and all others are

wrong, he is himself all wrong. He does not know that upon the proof

of all the others depends the proof of his own. The test of true

religiousness is love and charity for the whole human race."

And so, Mr. Editor4educomp: We have read and pondered your Father's

Love Letter, as you requested. Now let me ask you a question: Have

you ever bothered to read your Mother's Love Letter? It's all around

you, you know. And speaking of that -- when's the last time you

called Her?
